Failure by design

This organic cream container is praised by the manufacturer for only using the minimum amount of oil-based material (a.k.a. plastic). It requires structural support from a cardboard corset, otherwise it would behave more like a bag than a solid container. Unfortunately they seem to have ignored the importance of the bottom part, where this thing gets in contact with harsh objects like plastic trolleys and refrigerated shelves with glass floors. I ask you, who could possibly have known that this failure mode is likely to happen?
