Object Label: In the tombs of the Tang nobility, figures of attendants stood in small side chambers, symbolically waiting to serve the occupant of the tomb. The Figure of a Court Lady represents an mid-Tang ideal of beauty. Her round face and delicate features, elegant coiffure and flowing gown reflect the fashions of the Tang Imperial court.
