I did not really see my country until I moved my life to America in 2008. In trying to understand America, and the struggle that ensued, I finally saw my own country. Of course this is more than just the landmass. It involves the thing that essentially makes a country, the people and the minds of the people. I think patriotism is responsible for a huge amount of ignorance and hurt, so I do not call myself a patriot. In America I saw a patriotism that to me became ugly and one eyed. I do love my country. I know its strengths and its weaknesses. I call it home and want no other. The colour images are at the front end of the gallery, the mono at the back end.
