Dandelion

Keith - It's snowing here, and there's not a dandelion in sight.
But you've photographed this flower beautifully.
I always see them like this when I pick the heads for my dandelion jam, because then the little green sepals, the bracts, always have to be removed, otherwise they give it a bitter taste.

We've had a lot of rain, but at the moment it's very sunny and warmer than average for this time of year.

This "weed" looks amazingly attractive from the underside with its yellow-brown stripes. Perfect sharpness on the flowerhead and a nice soft background.

The Olympus 60mm macro lens is superb, but is very small and fiddly to use. I'd love the OM Systems 90mm macro, but I'd have to sell one of my kidneys to afford it :-)))
