Still Life with Screws

Still Life with Screws
Please check out the PiP if you want to see this one upside down.....and why wouldn't you?

Taken indoors, with a sheet of black vinyl as a background and to get the reflections. Natural window light and a reflector.

trester88, Colin Ashcroft, Annaig BZH, Jean-luc Drouin and 24 other people have particularly liked this photo

I couldn't decide between the two, both are great and mono was the perfect choice! You must have had fun arranging these:-) The main photo looks like stylized trees!

I'm pleased you like both of these Gudrun and my choice of black and white. The arrangement took a while to set up, as I kept knocking them over....but I got there in the end :-))

Thanks for your visit and generous comments as always. Much appreciated..!!

I'm always on the look out for things to make photos with, and I've had a box of screws in my shed for ages, and I've been wondering what I could do with them (photographically speaking). It was mainly just working out how best to display them!

I keep a notebook and write down ideas as they come to me.........sometimes they work, most times they don't......but it's always fun trying stuff out.

A steady hand and plenty of patience, you must have gathered up all your loose screws for this fine work of art. I like both shots but seem to be drawn more to the downside up version :-)

Ha, ha.......basically I had nothing better to do :-)))

Glad you like the results James and thanks very much for your kind and generous comments. I somehow thought you'd like the upside down one the best :-))

Very imaginative the black vinyl works well, I've played with dominoes on a mirror but of course you get the ceiling colour if you are feeling adventurous you could try to get them falling
8 weeks ago.
Keith Burton club has replied to Peter Castell club
The thing with the vinyl is that you have to shoot down on it so as to avoid any other reflections. It also helps if you use a large sheet of black card to stand the vinyl on which also keeps unwanted reflections at bay! Trial and error is the game..!!

I might have to give the dominoes a try in due course :-))

I admire how you managed to keep them standing !!!!!! My fave for the reverse in PIP.

Keith Burton club has replied to Xata club
It took a while to set it up, but you just have to be patient........and try not to bump against the table.

Of course, doing it upside down for the PiP was a bit more difficult :-)))

Thanks for stopping by Isabel :-)
