There's always one..........

There's always one..........
I found these tiny but beautiful crab apples in our local churchyard this morning. The largest one is only about 4cm in diameter and smallest 2cm in diameter.

I tried to get them all facing in the same direction, but one of them didn't seem to be able to work out left from right :-)))

No they can be quite rebellious at times Keith. Well done.

Cheers. Herb

ps the crab apples I always see never look as eatable as these do. Normally green and insect laden!

Ha, ha............glad you like this one Herb. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments.

These were actually on the tree, but there were dozens in the grass underneath that had gone rotten. I deliberately picked the nice looking ones.

Eigentlich sehen sie zum Anbeißen aus, aber das ist wohl nicht so eine gute Idee. ;-)

No, I wouldn't want to eat one Frank.......definitely not recommended, although I've heard that some people make them into jam or chutney, but I've never tried or tasted any.

Glad you like the photo though...........many thanks!

I agree with Judite, Keith...it's good to have someone who disagrees, life would be quite boring otherwise.

Someone has to watch the rear, I have an ornamental crab in my front garden the fruit on that is very small, it's rare for it to have any it's got scab disease

Keith Burton club has replied to Peter Castell club
Dimas (above) has just pointed that out Peter.........and you're both right..!!

The ornamental crab apple trees are lovely, it was from the one in the churchyard that I picked these. It was only about a metre high.

Keith Burton club has replied to trester88 club
Ha, ha............thanks Wilhelm.

Apparently crab apples make nice jam and chutney if you're into that sort of thing..!!
