Driftwood

Driftwood
I spotted this bit of driftwood that someone had propped up against the sea wall in Dell Quay. I thought it had the most marvellous shapes and textures, so decided to grab a photo to share!

I've added a couple of notes to indicate the shapes I see in the wood..!!

Best viewed large for detail.

Nouchetdu38, Ernest CH, Ulrich John, Leo W and 23 other people have particularly liked this photo

Always good to see shapes and stories in these driftwood pieces Keith. This makes me wonder how big this was, as its the type of thing that is soon whipped away as a garden centre-piece. I see that the more obvious shapes have been named already. Well spotted and presented here with just the right amount of background blurring.

Cheers. Herb

Cheers Herb..................glad you enjoyed looking at my driftwood find. This shot covers approx the top third of the trunk. The rest of it was covered in mud, seaweed and other gunk! It looks like it's been there for some time!

I've no doubt some enterprising person will lay claim to it in due course!

Pour l'une de tes précédentes photos j'évoque le chanteur Français Charles Trenet ("Le jardin extraordinaire") Il avait aussi composé "La mer", La mer est aussi une grande artiste.

It is a really stunning lump of driftwood, Keith. The way the sea carves and erodes wood and glass leads to fantastical shapes . The snake and turtle I see too…and I just love the tactile textures.
