Up on the Roof

Up on the Roof
Spotted this in the grounds of an old church close to where Iive. It's nothing special, but I liked the way that nature was slowly taking over the corrugated roof of this old shed.

The shed itself is barely standing, but I suspect it has been left because the roof looks like it's made of compressed corrugated asbestos, which means paying a specialist team to come and take it down.

Berny, Rrrolf, Annemarie, Fred Fouarge and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Moss, lichen and bramble(?) makes this look very attractive! I suspect you are right about the asbestos. It's a major hassle. We have kitchen verandas clad in cement asbestos (Eternit) and cannot even get a firm to give an estimate, nobody wants to touch it.

Thank you Gudrun.

A couple of years ago I had to demolish an old wooden shed with a similar roof in my garden. Luckily a local waste carrier was able to get someone to come in and remove the roof whilst keeping it safe, they also took it away for proper disposal.......expensive though, but there was no other way.

This is something that artists and keen photographers notice Keith. I love the detail in the roof and the foliage. I'm sure you're right about the asbestos. Left well alone!

Sunday greetings and wish you a good week ahead....hopefully not so hot!

Die Ranke überwuchert allmählich das Dach und lässt es schöner erscheinen. Eine schöne Entdeckung, Keith!
