Little Egret in Flight
Taken on the nature reserve at Langstone Harbour, during a walk last Tuesday morning.
In the PiP there is a shot of 10 other Little Egrets at the reserve. There are several collective nouns for Egrets, two of most common are a "Congregation" or a "Wedge". Personally, I like Wedge :-)

Keith Burton club has replied to Annemarie clubKeith Burton club has replied to Jaap van 't Veen clubKeith Burton club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne clubI think these may be the same egrets that roost at the millpond in Langstone Harbour. These were across the other side of the harbour and I think they must spend their days there.
I can remember when I was about 12 and my father took me to Langstone Harbour to see a Little Egret for the first time........it was a rare visitor then and there were literally hundreds of "twitchers" around over a period of a couple of weeks who had come to see it. Nowadays they're pretty common sight :-)
Keith Burton club has replied to Amelia clubEgrets are rarely seen where I live but we have lots of herons and anglers aren't too pleased about that.

Keith Burton club has replied to Günter Klaus clubWe have a large breeding colonies of Egrets at Langstone Harbour........but they are nearly always too far away to take photos of unless one flies nearby.
Thanks for dropping in my friend.
