Terrific capture Keith I like the textures and colouring of bark and timber and I wonder how many creatures have made a home within this stack,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment or a star folks. Glad you like my shot :-)

I have a wood pile in my garden now. It will take a while to "mature" but I'm hoping for some bugs to photograph this year.

Thanks Eunice. I overlooked it a first - it was my wife who pointed it out to me - she has a good eye.

Pleased this is done! The stag beetles should love this. I haven't seen a stag beetle since i was a boy and that is despite gardening every day (more or less) for 30 years!.

Glad you like it Andy. I haven't seen a Stag Beetle for a while either.......we used to get them in the garden nearly every year. That's one of the reasons that we recently made our own woodpile - hopefully we'll get some this year.

They made a very artistic pile! It would never have occurred to me that wildlife needed piles of wood, but, on the other hand, there are already plenty of piles of wood around here. Such a good shot, Keith!

These woodpiles will provide homes or shelter for bugs, beetles, hedgehogs, mice, voles etc, etc. It's an easy thing to do at home as well, if you don't mind an untidy spot in the garden. Thanks for dropping by Diane.
