Have a good 'un folks :-)

The Chesapeake Mill is a watermill in Wickham, Hampshire, England. The mill was designed and constructed in 1820 using the timbers of HMS Chesapeake, which had previously been the United States Navy frigate USS Chesapeake. Chesapeake had been captured by the Royal Navy frigate HMS Shannon during the War of 1812. John Prior paid the sum of £500 for the timbers sold at Portsmouth. The interior of the mill was designed around the dimensions of the deck beams. The mill remained in operation until 1976 and now serves as a retail centre for antique and gift sellers. Top shot and great notes - I heard about the Chesapeake connection in a totally different arena - differences between British and American English!
The building here is fabulous!
Oh, and HFF! too.

What a great old building and fascinating history! I knew absolutely nothing of a Chesapeake connection with the Royal Navy, in fact have never given the name Chesapeake much thought except to assume it was a Native tribal word.

A grand picture, Keith. Full of interesting bits: Spratt's Bonio signs; the space between "Chesapeake" and "Mill" (A date? a hyphen?). And a fine fence to boot. HFF, sir, and have a good weekend.

It's a huge place with stuff over three floors. There is a mill-stream and a waterfall at the back, but it's private and there's no vantage point for a photo :-(
