I'm pleased you posted this excellent shot, Keith. My neighbour has one which is very invasive and I'm frequently pruning it from my side of the fence, but I have been struggling to identify it....until now ;-)
I can't recall seeing a flutterby on it though.

Thanks Neil................also happy to help! We have three or four in our garden but they really need hacking back each year otherwise they can get out of control. I haven't seen many butterflies this year at all.

So beautiful, I love these. All but one variety of them are considered an invasive weed in California and Oregon, so nurseries can't sell them anymore. Before I knew this, I had ordered some small plants by mail. Oh well, they didn't live anyway!

Glad you like it Diane. Such a shame you can't get them anymore - I have three or four plants in my garden.......but they get out of control easily if they're not hacked back each year..!!
