Blimey! Nice bit of 19th century Brazilian mahogany. They don't grow trees like that any more...they're cut down long before the timber can become so beautiful. Lovely wrought security measures on the central packets box, and lovely quality bronze/gun-metal postal surrounds. A true work of art and craftmanship. Long may it survive. Well spotted and a cool capture.
