Sturdy indeed.......a very powerful bird with a wingspan of 4 or 5 feet. Also a very aggressive predator. It will attack and kill other birds and even small animals such as rabbits. They take a heavy toll on the birds of Skokholm - the ground is littered with the bodies of the dead each morning. But hey, survival of the fittest and all that.
