What a lovely composition! I am currently working on some fall images myself and have been presented with many composition puzzles...which way shall I crop this? Horizontal or vertical? What shall I include? Should the image be tilted? It's fun to think how best to make a picture shine. Then again, perhaps you are the type who, like my husband, prefers to compose with your camera, leaving only a bit of space for cropping. I do admire the "straight out of the camera" photographer who does this well. Heh, I very rarely pull that off, being much happier to have space to maneuver as I see fit!

In any event, your picture is beautiful I love the way the leaves hang down, the soft yellows that go to orange and brown. Wonderful shadows too, and finally, the +/- space is very pleasing and allows us to appreciate the lovely edges of the leaves. Nice job! :D

Herzlichen Dank, Janet, für den ausführlichen Kommentar. Ich bin ein Schnellfotograph, eher intuitiv. Meist fotografiere ich im Querformat, denn unsere Augen liegen ja nebeneinander und nicht übereinander:) Sehr viele Bilder entstehen in meinem Garten, so, wie dieses.

Reinschlupfn möcht ich...in diese Farben..in diese Sonne...man hat das Gefühl, das jetzt einzusaugen und zu konservieren und dann fällt mir wieder die Geschichte von Frederik ein..dem Mäuserich, der die Farben und des Sommers gesammelt hat um in der kalten Winterzeit seine Mäusefreunde damit zu erwärmen :)

Frederik ist mir in guter Erinnerung. Gut, dass es dieses Licht und diese Farben gibt. Tröstlich!
