Incense and Peppermints

Incense and Peppermints
Sight and Sound

This one fits into the "Tenuous Link" category.

As you can see this Red Breasted Sapsucker is really doing some damage to this poor birch tree. It was quite the battle between my husband and the sapsucker the other day. He tried several tactics to get the bird to fly away including aiming his leaf blower at the him while the bird just hung onto the tree happily sucking sap. Finally some peppermint oil applied to the tree seemed to do the trick and the bird has gone away, unharmed. (I was just happy to get this photo. :)

So.... from 1967 here is Strawberry Alarm Clock with...

Incense and Peppermints (I love the clothing in this video!)

Another fun one:

An absolutely beautiful shot and the 'Tenuous Link' category is delighted with this entry :-) If it was my tree and I could get shots as good as this I think I would make a sign that says "All Red Breasted Sapsuckers Welcome Here" :-) Love the videos :-) Totally faved work and thanks very much for posting to 'Sight and Sound', Karen.

I'm so glad to have satisfied the "T.L." category. ;)

I was the same way about the bird Roger. I had my tripod set up and was delighted he was just staying there. I even got a video (just can't get it uploaded to IP.) My husband is very protective of these trees since he planted them about 15 years ago and takes care of them.

What a lovely bird. I had no idea how much damage one bird could do.
