This is another gown I have in my collection. This one was redesigned a couple of times, it looks like, to fit at least two different people!

This is from under the puffs on one of the sleeves. You can see the stitches attaching the lining to the sleeve but you can also see that garish stain. Given the placement of the stain is where no one would see it when you are wearing the dress, I'm thinking the sleeves are a later design and the dress was made much earlier.

The trim is sewn down on what was the top and quickly basted on what was the bottom. I'm guessing that's so the trim wouldn't flap down while the individual tried to walk!

I turned the hem inside out so you could see the trim on the inside of the hem. It's pretty clear that someone shortened the gown at some point.
