This storm already has a ton of names from snomageddon to snOMG! Really, it's just an amazing amount of snow for the Washington DC area.

You can almost make out that dark shadowy Capitol building shape at the end of the Mall. For those that have been to DC, I guess this will give you a good gauge at how fast the snow was falling early on. You really couldn't see it well at all!

One of the many Smithsonian buildings down on the Washington DC Mall. The snow you see on the ground was from a few days earlier. The snow from the big snow storm had just started to fall.

No, there isn't really flame on the side. I was testing out the flash on my camera and trying different methods. I eventually turned the flash off but this is what happens when you cover the flash with your thumb.
