Lead sheeting with stile
Chronicle Of Vital Individual Distancing, day 24.
A very old and substantial stile in the Cheshire countryside. It must have been well used and important in the past, to merit the lead sheeting on the upright posts. Presumably this would have protected the wood from the rain and also protected users’ hands from splinters.

Macabre
Chronicle Of Vital Individual Distancing, day 25.
This tree is positioned horizontally across a path, so where the upper branches would normally be against the sky they are resting on a bank of earth. Sadly, this is not obvious in the picture so it is on the same level as a joke that has to be explained. I have manipulated the tones in the picture to some extent to enhance the strangeness.

Victorian arched brickwork
Chronicle Of Vital Individual Distancing, day 25.
The archway passes under a wide track that now gives access to a farm. The track may originally have been used in the mining industry so the brick tunnel would have provided access from one mine to another without crossing the track.
