Goodyera pubescens (Downy Rattlesnake Plantain Orchid)

This is the final trip to see the Downy Rattlesnake Plantain Orchid. All the rest of them have already gone to seed except this odd group of 15 blooming stems. I have no clue why these are later than the others which are as close as ten feet away. In any case, it was a bountiful year for this orchid species in the upstate of South Carolina.
