Juste avant d'atterrir à Marseille et avant la tombée de la nuit.
La nature essentiellement calcaire du Mont Ventoux (1910m) et de nombreux pierriers dans la partie sommitale expliquent la remarquable blancheur du sommet.

Doch das Weiß, das wir auf dem Gipfel sehen, ist - noch ! - kein Schnee, sondern Kalksteinschutt, der von Sonne, Frost und schlechtem Wetter weiß gebleicht wird!
