Comme le dit Bärbel plus haut le fruit jaunit puis prend une couleur orangée à maturité!!!!
On l'appelle "Pinpin" à la Réunion et se cuisine de différentes manières (>>>internet!!!!)

Du coup j'ai regardé, et je suis étonnée de voir à quel point ses utilisations peuvent être variées : il se mange cru en salade, cuit avec du porc, du poulet, des crevettes, en daube. Il sert aussi de brise vent et de tuteur au vanillier, et ses feuilles sont utilisées pour l'artisanat (sacs, chapeaux, vanneries).
