In 2000, the management of the space was handed over to Parques de Sintra, which undertook a profound intervention to rehabilitate the roofs and facades, and the installation of new infrastructure networks, which allowed the palace to reopen in 2010. The restoration of the interiors took place, for visitors to see, until 2016. Today, the palace is fully restored and has regained its former splendor.
