Ponte de Trajano

It was completed in the time of Emperor Trajan, between the end of the 1st century and the beginning of the 2nd century AD. It is a remarkable engineering work, about 150 meters long. The 12 visible arches are perfectly round and formed by huge and robust granite staves. It still serves well the City of Chaves and for 2000 years and until 20 years ago, even automobiles would cross it everyday...
