This is special to me because here I started snorkeling during the fifties but the water was icy, (still is) ; the first neoprene suits were only arriving and were awfully expensive.
We used two, sometimes three old wool pullovers that even wet coul give a little protection because they rubbed the skin anyway in there for over 20 minutes was not possible. Had to come back and get some sun to warm a bit then to get in again. Barely at one mile from the coast you have a 1800 m deep canyon easy to understand . . .
