During the fifties down there you could sometimes find very big fish. I swam here with the first hammerhead shark I had ever seen, perhaps drowsy from an Ocean wild beating.Usually they would relax for 2 or 3 days before taking to the large again.On the background you have the 15 km long sand beach named Costa da Caparica. Straight North is Lisbon.

Sim porém de espécies que já não aparecem por aqui há centenas de anos ( C. carcharias , por exemplo ) embora tenham sido ocasionalmente observados até 30º de Latitude N e Lisboa esteja a 38 N... Possível mas pouco provável já que também lhes faltaria a comida !

Marie - Claire, je peux t'assurrer que si près de la côte et sans justification plausible ( pas assez de nourriture ) tu le les verrais pas sur cette plage et tu ne risquerais pas non plus de te baigner là dedans parce que … l'eau est très, très froide ! Cousteau a plongé à 2000 mètres à l'ouest de cette baie avec sa machine, donc avec une telle fosse tout près il ne faut pas s'attendre à des "eaux douces"...
