Isn't the church clock a wonderful invention?

Quite apart from the intricacies of its mechanisms, it's such an amazing IDEA that you can capture time in a sphere and place it on high, where everyone can see it, or even hear it, and even those without numbers can tell its meaning with a glance. I rue the day when the church clock goes digital.
