The council presumably did this to cover the graffiti on the brickwork, but have created a far worse eyesore than the graffiti ever was, and given the vandals a blank surface to do more.

This is in an urban conservation area, where painting of brickwork is against the regulations.

Oxford City Council, please clean it off!

The graffiti is now coming back again and looking far more of an eyesore against the vile orange background.
