Gilderoy Scamp

I am the great great granddaughter of Gilderoy Scamp. His daughter Flora was the mother of my grandfather. My grandfather was Harry Addley and he died in the Spanish Civil War in 1936 when my father was five years old. It's amazing to see my great great grandfather's name on a canal boat. Do you know who the owner is?

That's interesting, but I'm sorry to say I don't know anything about the boat.
I just take pictures of some of the names as I'm walking along the canal.

I see they've depicted his hat there.

Yes, he was famous for the hat he wore.
Thank you anyway for your reply. It has intrigued me as to who owns the boat and why they had his name painted on it. Maybe another distant relative?
If you ever see it again, I would be really grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks again
