(Das Gebäude hier erinnerte mich im übrigen an die Seattle Public Library von Rem Koolhaas - hat der das hier auch gebaut?)
Update: Nee, sehe gerade: Gottfried Böhm aus Köln. Und es ist wohl die neue Stadtbibliothek.

Ja, fürs Auge bietet das etwas, insbesondere die mutige Einbettung in die mittelaterliche Umgebung. Aber warum Bibliotheken neuerdings immer Glaskästen sein müssen, finde ich unverständlich. Da wird aufwendig herumgekühlt damit man nicht im Tropenhaus lesen muss. Zudem hat man zwar Geld für das Gebäude, aber am Samstag wird wegen Stellenmagel um 12:30 der Laden dicht gemacht. Naja.

So love this. I'm drawn to this type 'modernist' graphic type image, though I don't often take them myself. Maybe it comes from growing up in a mid-century modern home? Who knows. Whatever the reason, I smile when I see this.
