Howard Kilgour club has replied to Nautilus
It's a "Mad Max" reenactor event held (usually) every year in the Mojave Desert about two hours from Los Angeles. The event is immersive and all participants must wear "Mad Max" attire at all times. There's even a central area that looks like a post apocalyptic village in every detail. I've read that a large number of attendees prepare all year for the 5 day event.
