Under the bridge

Under the bridge
A thousand teak logs jammed in ancient mud,

Recycled from a palace — what a stud.

The joints don’t need a nail, just faith and fit,

While concrete neighbors say, “You’re full of… grit.
Eight centuries of footsteps, floods, and fuss

The bridge still stands. Can’t say the same for us.

Reminds me of a long, totally bamboo bridge in Assam on Majuli Island in the Brahmaputra River.
Cars crossed it, slowly and carefully and it bowed down to almost touch the water…wing and a prayer stuff!

I didn’t go to Majuli, but I’ve heard of it. It’s known as a special place where people don’t follow caste, believe in one god, and show their devotion to Krishna without using idols. You must have had a great experience there

True. People use it every day to commute. I left the coordinates so you can understand from the map how important it is.

Yes, I saw that- I always appreciate when someone gives the coordinates! I wish more people would do that.

I like doing it, even though everything has to be done by hand, including noting the equipment I used – at least what I can still remember, lol. I also enjoy telling the story behind the photo, so people don’t just see an ordinary or strange shot, but can share as much as possible in my experience.

I use GeoSetter to write coordinates into the EXIFs beforehand, but I'm not sure it will work with Win11 (still on 10 at the moment)

wouldn't help much in 2012, in Myanmar, and definitely not with Nikon FM2 which is 35mm film 1982 camera

I usually do it at my home laptop before uploading to ipernity, it works as long as it is a jpg file (or dng or similar formats). GeoSetter uses OpenStreetMap, you place the marker on the correct spot and then save the photo. geosetter.de/en/main-en

Oh, now I know what you mean. Though GeoSetter is not made for Mac, I tried GeoTag tool, which appears to be very handy for posting. It edits also the time and date, and also it writes to TIFF - so I do not need to re-edit JPGs which would be not the best. So thank you for a good hint, my friend.
