Flocon RF 222

An old Diana-clone camera I picked up downtown at the local antique store. I only paid $2 for it and bought it for the investment. I had seen where they were going for ungodly prices on eBay, so I figured to try and sell this one. I did end up selling it on eBay, for $53, but not before I had ran two rolls of film through it first - one in black and white and the other in color.

This was the second Diana-clone camera I had. But, I ended up selling this one on eBay because I only bought it for the investment of selling it.

Taken with my Flocon RF 222 Diana-clone 120 camera. This camera is almost perfect - the viewfinder is exactly what you see and no light leaks showing! At least not in this shot. I got a light leak at the very top center of a few others that was likely due to it coming in from the tab on the bottom of the camera you twist to take off the back to load the film. Big John

23 Sep 2013 1 1 514
Despite what the name says on his apron, this is really Big John. He's a big, 3-story tall metal statue that started out as the mascot in front of the Big John chain of grocery stores. He stood in front of the one in Carmi for decades before the company sold out the chain and it was done away with. This new grocery store brought Big John out of retirement, gave him some fresh paint and named him the "Little Giant." But, for those of us who have lived here in Southern Illinois most of our lives, he will always be remembered as "Big John."
