Magicube

Snappy Colour Film 200

I picked up 6 rolls of this stuff - I think it was a store brand over in the U.K. It was long-expired, but I'm able to get some decent images out of the film at least.

Magicube

A closeup of an old Magicube flash cube. These were made for Instamatic cameras and didn’t require batteries to make them flash. This hasn’t been cropped at all, it’s just that with the 2x tele-converter and the +3 close-up lens, it allows me to get this close to a small object. It turned out grainy due to the expired film and I also noticed that this particular combination of lenses makes for a pretty shallow depth-of-field. This particular Magicube is a Sylvania Blue Dot Magicube - a classic flash cube brand. Tuner

My old radio tuner that goes with my component stereo. Does anybody else still have these? I’ve had this camera for about 17 years and I just fixed it and used it for the first time tonight. I was also shooting with some long expired film. But it seems to have turned out all right. Three Hours

A long exposure toward the road that runs past my house into town, as seen from my front porch. I was using long-expired Snappy Colour 200 film to see if I could an image with a real long exposure using my Kodak Instamatic 126 camera. Aurora

This shot was a long exposure at dawn, well before the sun came up. Plus, it was heavily overcast, so it looks a lot lighter than it actually was. The camera is just a cheap little plastic trashcam which has a plastic lens that isn't very good. But, I had never used this camera before, so now I can say I have. The image was converted to black and white from the expired colour film. Camera: Jazz 206 (normal setting) Lens: 27mm optical lens Film: Snappy Colour 200, (expired) Shutter Speed: “B” 30 secs.
