Mama Don't Take My Kodachrome Away

Kodak Kodachrome 25

I really liked using Kodak Kodachrome 25 back in the day because it was so good and had hardly any grain. Too bad it was another film that Kodak stopped making.

Christmas Party Games

17 May 2020 220
This was the Harrelson side of my family all getting together for a Christmas party at our house. Remember the days when families used to do this at this scale? There was the five members of my immediate family, Dad's two brothers and sister and their spouses, plus their kids. This picture shows one of the games we played that night. It was a kind of relay game where the women were pitted against the men and each person had to unwrap a dummy present, wrap it back up and then pass it on to the next person on your team to do the same. The first team that finished was the winner. Camera: Minolta XD11 Lens: Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm, f/1.2 Film: Kodak Kodachrome 25 Date: December 22nd (?), 1979 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Fall Tree 1981

I took the shot of my annual Fall tree a little late this year, but you can see what the shape of the tree was back when I started shooting it. At that point in time, I didn't realize that I would end up shooting it this time of year into another century. Camera: Minolta XD11 Lens: Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm, f/1.2 Film: Kodak Kodachrome 25 Date: October 1981 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Minolta Kodachrome 1981 Fall Tree 05df

Not So Dandy Dandelion

This is what happens when you don't develop slide film for 26 years after you've shot it. I had three rolls that I shot around 1980/1981 and they got shoved to the back of a drawer and forgotten about. When I found them, I had them developed. Camera: Minolta XD11 Lens: Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm, f/1.2 Film: Kodak Kodachrome 25 Date: Circa 1981 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Minolta K-25 Apr07-1 1981 02hf

1974 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ

23 Mar 2014 3 1 316
This is a great old Pontiac I had around 1980-1982. I heard that it was the last muscle car produced by Detroit, mine was quite fast, if maybe a tad bit small for me. Taken with my Minolta XD11 using Kodak Kodachrome 25 slide film.

1971 Dodge Polara

30 Sep 2014 1 1 466
My 1971 Dodge Polara as it looked when I last had it. It was taken with a Minolta XD11 and Kodak Kodachrome 25 film. However, I shot the film and the roll got stuck in a drawer for 25 years before it was developed. When it was developed, it looked awful, but at least the pictures turned out somewhat. Some of the things I had done to my wagon up to this point were: Removed the front bench seat and replaced it with custom bucket seats. Removed the back seat and laid the platform down. I was attempting to make it into a sedan delivery. Shaved the rear door handles, welded the back doors shut and filled in the seams. Had side pipes installed. Lowered the front in about 3-4 inches. Since it came from the factory with a spoiler on the top above the back door, I crafted a front airdam out of sheet metal and welded it on. Installed hood pins to keep the hood down secure. Filled in the seams for the front cap where it attached to the front fenders. Painted the grill a flat black. Removed most of the chrome. It looks like it doesn't have a front driver's side wheel, but that's just because I had gotten two new tires for the front and the rims were black with no hubcaps. Just after this picture was taken, I had 60's mounted on the rear. Even though they were a little wider than stock, they still fit under the fenders without rubbing.
