Kodak Tri-X 400
I shot a whole lot of Kodak Tri-X 400 back in the 1970s. Since I worked freelance for the local newspapers, that's what they required. I still shoot it to this day, but they seemed to have changed the formula and I don't think it's as good as it used to be.

Close Encounters Of The Folger's Kind

Another attempt at a "fake" UFO photo. This was that thing that used to go inside coffee perculators and held the coffee grounds. I lit it from the inside and photographed it in a dark room. Then I double-exposed the negative with a shot outdoors at dusk.

How Not To Take A Fake UFO Photo
|
|
|
When trying to take a realistic fake UFO photo, be sure to use a slow enough shutter speed on your camera so as to blur your subject. Which, in this case, was a hubcap from a 1969 Oldsmobile 98 LS.

Overturned Truck

I was so happy to find this picture! It was taken for the local paper back in 1980 and I thought I didn't have a copy of it for my files. I was going through one of my file cabinets and found a copy of the old newspaper it came from and scanned it into my computer. The guy driving the truck was unfamiliar with intersection where the accident took place and turned his truck over. I don't think he was hurt.
I shot the pictures and took the roll to my town's local newspaper. They let me use their darkroom to develop the film, select what I felt was the best shot and then print it out for use in the paper. I used Kodak D-76 to develop it in.

1984 Solar Eclipse
|
|
There was a partial solar eclipse that happened on May 30th, 1984. Here's a sequence of shots I took of it from out in the countryside around Enfield, Illinois. The reason it's not very clear is because I was using a small 50mm lens instead of a longer one. It was a multiple exposure taken on one single frame, so if I'd used a longer lens, I wouldn't have been able to get as many images on it. Taken with my Minolta XD11 and Kodak Tri-X 400 speed black and white film.

This tree is in Kentucky and was taken on February 15th, 2011 with my Pentax PC-330. First chance I've gotten to use it, but I need to try it again with a whole roll of film instead of one frame of Kodak Tri-X poorly positioned inside the camera.
