Each year, the junior class of the local school gets to paint their names on the side of this building, the Lion's Club building in Norris City. For years, even in my day back in the 1970's, they allowed the students to paint on the train viaduct at the edge of town. After it was torn down and the railroad line it carried removed, the students used the side of a building downtown to paint. Then, a new building was built in 2003, I think, that covered up that space. They were allowed to relocate here and have been here ever since.
