LOOK WHAT I FOUND! (IMG_0876.JPG)

It's been 20 years ago (1992) since Ross Perot first ran for President of the United States. He ran again four years later in the '96 Election. Although unsuccessful both times, he did manage to stir things up and change the focus on several issues, and he was talking about making the government fiscally responsible for the way it spends money way back before anyone else would even acknowledge there was a problem with Federal Spending. Perot was a bit eccentric and controversial, and it's too bad no one seemed to take his message more seriously.
It amazes me that this sign is still up 20 years later. Although a little weather-damaged, you can still read it.
Look carefully to see what relic of the past is hi…

I've looked at this sign for the last 16 years or more, since I have to drive past it each day. I thought that someone would eventually take it down, especially after Ross Perot's second unsuccessful attempt at the White House. Ross Perot first ran for President of the United States in 1992, some 20 years ago. He ran again four years later in the '96 Election. Although unsuccessful both times, he did manage to stir things up and change the focus on several issues.
Ross Perot wanted to talk about keeping America free and un-beholden to foreign powers, creating jobs through the private sector, and putting the brakes on out-of-control Federal Spending. And like Ron Paul, who talks about the same things today, Perot was largely ignored and laughed at. With the recent news that the 32 worse months for employment of the last quarter-century have all been in the last few years, you'd think maybe someone would start to take note. ( www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/under-obama-30-worst-months-... )
Anyway, it amazes me that this sign is still up after 20 years. Maybe if I'm still around in another 20 years I can find a Ron Paul sign that was forgotten somewhere. Meanwhile, it seems to be politics as usual in America.

(Yeah, I know it's crooked. I can't see the regular display out in bright light, and from this angle, I couldn't get down low enough to take a peek through the viewfinder)

Several days of intermittent thunderstorms and a holiday weekend kept the grass and bush guy from making his appointed rounds where I work. I arrived at the office Tuesday morning to find this "arrangement of flowers" on the office lawn. Fifteen minutes after I took these shots, the lawn guy arrived and took everything down, making our lawn look like a lawn again, rather than a flower bed.

"Flower Power" WELP Radio Station lawn before the landscaper arrived to bring the lawn back to normal. Several days of intermittent rain prevented his arriving at his appointed time for almost a week, and these flowers are the kind that sprout up quickly.

Kolton liked watching the rain from the window at Fazoli's. Perfect timing on our part- the rain started just after we arrived, and it stopped just before we left. We stayed perfectly dry. :)

I got Kristin to shoot this as we left the gas station upon our arrival in Columbia for lunch at Fazoli's and an afternoon at the mall. Gas is slightly higher here than back home. I knew we should have gassed up before leaving Greenville.
