Acacia Ridge

Photos taken on my first look at Acacia Ridge rail and freight depot in January 2008. They look at the layout and photo possibilities for the afternoon. They also show construction at the southern end apparently to replace the Beaudesert Rd level crossing. Comments and corrections welcomed. A year later in January 2009 bridge construction and civil works are well advanced. In April 2009 work is advancing towards the planned cutover to the new track to eliminate the level crossing. In June 2009 the level crossing has been replaced by the new alignment in the cutting under half the new bridge. The alignment which went across Beaudesert Rd has had the rails lifted. In January 2010 the second half of the bridge is in use and carrying both directions of road traffic. Pedestrians use this side only. Construction plant occupies the first half. The base for addtional track is being constructed. The former alignment has disappeared with this work except near Learoyd Rd.
