A retired trampoline mat finds a new use. With the aid of stakes, cable ties and the back fence it becomes a shade for lettuce and rocket. The lettuce clearly tastes sweeter now and I think the rocket is better too. This shot shows the light in the middle of the day. I got the idea of using the mat as shade cloth from noticing that the lawn grew more quickly under the trampoline than in comparable other places. February 2019.

A flower which is about the size of a little finger fingernail on a plant of unknown name. February 2019. Now identified: Tradescantia pallida.
Thank you Sylvain for identifying the plant. It more than thrives in our garden as a border or a gap filler. It seems tolerant of drought, a good attribute here.

Lunch trolley at the Koalas. To the left of the man is a wheelie bin full of branches of eucalyptus trees of the varieties which the Koalas eat the leaves from. The previously sleepy-looking animals became a bit animated with a couple climbing down to the floor and walking across to the bin. The keeper ignored these and just replaced the branches on the climbing frames. Lone Pine Sanctuary, Brisbane. November 2018.
