4839 standing on a down freight in Armidale waiting to depart. An unknown X200 rail tractor, with a match/shunter's truck, is shutdown between bouts of shunting wagons in the yard. 20/03/76

1709 leading 1243 from Hornsby towards Strathfield in 1965. The locos arrived at Hornsby light engine, were turned then collected the vintage cars from the Hornsby Car Sheds and are on their way to display somewhere.

3828 on the turntable at Gosford, May 65. This was on my first outing specifically to see trains. It was also done without having had a film developed from the ancient box brownie I was using. This was the only photo worth scanning from that day. A bit sad about the garratts, double 35s, 35s and 38s on passengers etc etc.

My best ever photo with the ancient box brownie. 3620 waiting for a task. The location was the Eveleigh loco depot and maintenance workshop. The area has been redeveloped as an modern industrial area with a small amount of rail workshop remaining for heritage rail activities. September 1965.

1307 is a 4-4-2 tank loco which was originally a 12 class 4-4-0 tender loco from around 1880. This loco had recently been replaced at Yass by an X200 rail tractor. I was surprised to see it here. Soon after I took the photo of 1307 a guy about 18 said he had to move it and did I want a ride so I climbed in and went about a 100m. That was pretty good.
