Test Lamp 0217 1798

Test Lamp 0217 1798
I wanted a 12V test lamp while working on a car so I combined an LED and a resister off a scrap cct board, an old ballpoint pen tube, an old faulty multimeter probe, plus a crocodile clip and some wire from the junk box. I then used some solder, glue and heatshrink sleeving to put it all together. The photo shows the test lamp connected to the 12V output of a power supply. I expect this will also be used in working on electronics on the bench. February 2017.

This is just the sort of thing my grandson likes to come up with! I'll show him, he'll love it! He was recently shopping on eBay for LEDs, for some reason I couldn't comprehend.

When I was in school I got most of my supplies by asking people for their superseded radios etc. These days many parts come from old PCs, two-way radios and electronic detritus. Teach your grandson to recycle, it's trendy and green.
