Didn't complete the job the tree removal the previous afternoon so back the next morning to finish it. In doing so they broke my phone line. They arranged for Telstra the phone company to repair it. The technician arrived soon after the tree crew left and replaced the broken cable. All good!

The council was having a blitz at that time on nature strip trees which were damaging the curb and road surface. So probably they did break a few phone lines. This turned out to be a good thing for our ADSL internet. The download speed increased 50%, so the old drop wire must have had some prior damage.
