Thanks Pete. There were about 5 or 6 of this style of loco that I know of. 1 or possibly 2 lasted beyond the official end of steam in 1973 due to their users keeping them a low profile. This one is one of them www.ipernity.com/doc/grahamh/24204317 at a Sydney suburban yard and the other was at Eveleigh, according to rumours, where the above photo was taken. Apparently the ex BR boss who was boss at NSW Railways, one Phillip Shirley, got very hot under the collar when he found out about them a year or so after the 'end of steam' in March 1973.
