Ham 2M gndpln 002
My 2M antenna at home as first installed.
This 2m antenna is constructed from a dexion bracket recovered from a telecoms site ~30 yrs ago, a mobile base even older and a mirror mount clamp. The vertical is the spring and whip I use on vehicles. The ground plane is galvanised wire from a coathanger. The feeder is an RG59 equivalent from a disposal source.
In 2013 the fibreglass whip was replaced with suitable length of galvansed wire in a ferrule from an old mobile phone antenna. It was a nuisance having to climb up there when I wanted to work from a car.
