Sunday challenge 181- Partners/pairings - many thanks to Ally www.ipernity.com/home/2830856 for the "Australian botanicals" theme.
Corymbia ficifolia, red flowering gum, in our garden.
NSW Australia.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Corymbia ficifolia, commonly known as red flowering gum, is a species of small tree that is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. It has rough, fibrous bark on the trunk and branches, egg-shaped to broadly lance-shape adult leaves, flower buds in groups of seven, bright red, pink or orange flowers and urn-shaped fruit. It has a restricted distribution in the wild but is one of the most commonly planted ornamental eucalypts.

2026 Sunday challenge 184 - Portrait - one of my favourites, such a great smile.
Square crop version for 100 Strangers, removing back lights... see photo in note top left.
I met Margot at the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club , where she has worked for the last seven years. She describes herself as made in Taiwan, although has never been there. She has worked all over Australia.
Thanks so much, Margot, for agreeing to be my 27th Stranger in the 100 strangers project. It was lovely to meet you.

The wild dolphins, Patch and Mystique, come in for their daily fish treats. It was my Father's 101st Birthday 5th April 2018, and we went to see the Dolphins on the 101st day of 2018 :-) Such a magical experience :-)
Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins are referred to as an 'inshore' species as they occur in shallow nearshore waters, often near river mouths, and are rarely sighted more than 1 km offshore.

Sunday challenge SC190 - Post 29 March - Miksang photography
Miksang is a form of contemplative photography based on visual perception of the everyday world as it truly is, rather than as we imagine it to be.
Instead of seeing and labelling ‘objects’ we see colour, texture and pattern, light and shadow, form and space.
Miksang is a Tibetan word that translates as “good eye.”

Sunday challenge 191 - Ugly Ducklings
Take a photograph of something that we normally view as ugly and make it beautiful, or at least interesting. For example, an insect up close, garbage in black and white, a dead flower, an aging building, rust…. The list goes on and on.
