Enjoyed a pleasant interlude in Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay, Port Stephens, en route to our visit to the Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia.

Shoal Bay Country Club, established 1935.

With an area of approximately 119 square kilometres Port Stephens is larger than Sydney Harbour. It extends approximately 24 km inland from the Tasman Sea and at its widest point, it is 6.5 km across.

Oh yes! We drove along the coast all the way up to Cairns! The weather was not on our side at the beginning.

What a beautiful area to sit and enjoy the sun. I notice that despite the fact that it was taken during your winter time, people were still sitting outside in the sun, whereas here in the UK, in the middle of winter, there is rarely a time when you'd do that!!!! I hope you are enjoying the weekend.
