Crescent Bench

Crescent Bench
Foreshore at Boreen Point, Queensland.

Located on a rocky outcrop on the western side of Lake Cootharaba, Boreen Point is a small village that is bounded by water on three sides.

Boreen Point has a distinctive character derived from its lakeside setting, foreshore open space and shading vegetation, mix of traditional and contemporary building styles, low level of infrastructure and a general absence of commercialism.

The bench looks so inviting. I was amazed by all the empty or near empty beaches that I saw in Queensland. A real paradise (except for the crocs and jellyfish. But every place has its challenges).

Thanks Esther. No crocs or jellyfish at Boreen Point :-) It's a very shallow lake and used for sailing regattas. Crocs in Northern Queensland. Have seen signs for estuarine crocs at Hervey Bay which is a few hours drive North from here. Yes, Oz has its fair share of scary stuff!
