Le versant sud des écuries menaçait de basculer dans les douves. Il a fallu procéder rapidement à une mise en sécurité de ce bâtiment du XVIIe siècle mais édifié sur des fondations du XIVe siècle. "Aujourd’hui, cette première phase est terminée depuis décembre 2024 et nous sommes soulagés de savoir que le bâtiment ne va pas s’effondrer", précise Aymeric de Noblet, le propriétaire du château de La Clayette. Les travaux ne sont pas pour autant terminés puisque reste la phase probablement la plus importante : la restauration proprement dite du bâtiment.
"Il faut réparer et surtout, avant tout, savoir pourquoi le bâtiment s’effondrait. Il va falloir lancer une étude et un chiffrage des travaux".
The south-facing side of the stables was threatening to topple into the moat. This 17th-century building, built on 14th-century foundations, had to be made safe as quickly as possible. ‘Today, this first phase was completed in December 2024 and we are relieved to know that the building will not collapse,’ explains Aymeric de Noblet, the owner of Château de La Clayette. However, the work is not over yet, as there remains what is probably the most important phase: the actual restoration of the building.
‘We need to repair and, above all, find out why the building was collapsing. We're going to have to launch a study and put a price tag on the work’.
