der Held fiel hier an der Seite Alexanders
den XXVII August MDCCXIII
Im Dresdner Süden direkt unterhalb der Bismarcksäule auf der Räcknitzhöhe steht ein 1814 errichtetes Denkmal, das an den französischen General Moreau, der am 27. August 1813 hier an dieser Stelle - nun auf der Seite der Verbündeten kämpfend - von einer "heimatlichen" Kanonenkugel getroffen wurde, die ihm beide Beine zerschmetterte. Unter dem Denkmal liegen nur seine beiden amputierten Beine begraben, er selbst ruht in the katholischen Kirche St. Catherine in St. Petersburg.
